Creativity in the service of feminine beauty...

Colette Ravier has been offering her particular brand of women’s fashions since October 1989. Her aim? To make women look beautiful, to show that fashion can be fun, above all, to flatter femininity.

In 1991, Colette set up shop in the historic centre of Strasbourg, in premises that were soon to include her workshop. Design and sales in one and the same place -a striking concept indeed.

Today, whatever she touches is transformed, becomes a play of fabric upon fabric, a subtle interplay of shadow and light. And now that she works with a dressmaker-stylist, she produces two collections a year.

Letters from far-away places, origami, games, traces, Breughel… all of her creations are an expression, a re-visiting of a variety of different themes.

Who wears her creations ? Singers, musicians -some from the ‘Percussions de Strasbourg’ ; shoppers passing through and captivated by an unusual cut, an original theme, the vibrant mix of invigorating colours ; among her other clients : women who simply love her style, and award-winning French hairdressers, robed in her luxurious creations for the Gala night ceremony.

Colette takes part in fashion shows and evening events like the Hairdressing Gala, and takes her inspiration from these to organise her own shows. These events are the occasion for showing her talent and her creative range…to the satisfaction of a clientèle won over by the manifestly daring, the resolutely modern, in a highly feminine mode.

She creates dresses for weddings, for gala evenings, but also for day-to-day wear for women looking for a quirky, cheeky, flamboyant touch. From the U.S. to Mexico, Peking to Tokyo, Oslo to Moscow, through Africa and Europe, Colette’s creations give expression to women’s innermost dreams.

In 2003 she celebrated her fifteenth anniversary as a fashion designer with a grand parade at the Hilton Hotel, Strasbourg : the consecration of her art.

The same year she organised an exhibition in parallel with the Mabou exhibition at the Maison d’Art in Strasbourg, and took part in the International Bridal Fashion Show in Paris. Proof again of her creative artistry : no less a painter than a sculptor, or a colorist-stylist, Colette is a true designer-alchemist.

In 2004 Colette obtained concessions for the sale of her work in a number of retail outlets across France.

Within just a few years, Colette Ravier has unquestionably attained artistic maturity. Colour, innovation, novelty are the hallmarks of her trade, with that extra touch of excentricity and originality where femininity reigns supreme.
